Black beans dip recipe

Wanna entertain large crowd but don’t wanna spend too much time in making starters , then try this super spicy, creamy and lemony dip. It is not only tasty but its healthy too, full of protein and fiber. Serve it with fresh veggies and you can get perfect healthy snack too.

Black beans dip is a mixture of mashed black beans with cilantro, jalapeno, lime juice and chopped onion and tomato.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of black beans cooked

  • 2/3 cup of cilantro chopped

  • 1 jalapeno pepper chopped

  • 2 Tbsp of lime or lemon juice

  • 1 tsp of cumin powder

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • Half of small red onion chopped finely

  • 1/2 of medium tomato chopped or 2tbsp of tomato salsa

  • little water to blend

Directions

  • Blend jalapeno,garlic,cilantro,lime juice,cayenne,cumin and half of black beans together until smooth.Use little water as needed.
  • Add remaining beans and give it one small twirl.
  • Put the bean mixture in a bowl and add onion,tomato or salsa and mix .
  • Spicy black beans dip is done.Granish it with cilantro or chopped tomato.
  • Serve with tortilla chips or pita chips and if you really wanna go super healthy, serve it with baked whole wheat flat bread (roti) chips.

Notes

  • You can reduce cayenne or jalapeno pepper ,if you like less spicy .
  • If you are not a raw onion or garlic person than you can saute chopped onion and garlic in little oil until translucent and add to the dip mixture.
