Gobhi manchurian is one of the most popular Indo-Chinese dish. It’s a very delicious cauliflower recipe but not very healthy though. So try these low calorie, baked cauliflower (gobhi) manchurian. You can still have those heavenly, yummy gobhi manchurian but the good part is that, it’s baked.

Ingredients

  • Marinade :-
  • 1 medium cauliflower

  • 1 Tbsp of ginger garlic paste

  • 2 Tbsp of corn flour

  • 2 Tbsp of whole wheat flour or palin flour

  • 1 Tbsp of low sodium soya sauce

  • 1 tsp of rice wine vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper

  • 1 tsp of chilly sauce

  • salt if needed

  • Sauce for gobhi manchurian :-
  • 1 diced big onion

  • 1 diced large capsicum

  • Green Chilies to taste chopped fine

  • 5-6 large garlic cloves, chopped fine

  • 1/2 Tbsp of chopped ginger

  • 3 Tbsp of ketchup

  • 1 Tbsp Red or green Chili Sauce(Use less,if u want less spicy

  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp rice or white Vinegar

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • 3 tsp Corn Starch

  • 1 Tbsp of oil

  • 3 scallions to garnish

Directions

  •  Preheat oven to 400 F and spray little oil in a large baking sheet. 
  •  Cut the cauliflower into medium florets and boil it in salted water for about 3-4 minutes and then drain the water and let it cool down.
  •  When the cauliflower cools down, add all the ingredients from the marinade and let it sit for minimum 1 hour in refrigerator.
  •  Then transfer the florets to baking tray and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or until brown.
  •  Heat oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic and green chillies and stir for a minute,then add onion and stir fry for about 3-4 minutes.
  •  Now add capsicum and stir fry again for 1 minute and add all the sauces and mix.
  •  Mix cornstarch with water and pour into the pan and cook until it thickens.
  •  Now add baked florets into the sauce and toss it well.
  •  Garnish it with chopped scallions. Gobhi manchurian is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with Chinese fried rice or Chowmein .

Notes

  • If you want cauliflower or gobhi manchurian in a traditional way (if you don’t want to bake it) you can deep fry the marinated cauliflower florets until it is golden brown.
