Avocado paratha

Avocado paratha is very simple and easy paratha in which whole wheat flour is kneaded with avocado, garlic, cilantro and onion creating very soft and healthy parathas .

Yield :- 10 parathas
Ingredients :-

  • 1 hass avocado
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1.5 Tbsp of grated onion(1/4 of medium onion)
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 2 Tbsp of cilantro, finely chopped
  • Juice of half of lemon
  • 1.5 cup of whole wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • oil/ghee for roasting
  • Little flour for dusting

Method :-

1. In a big bowl, mix every thing together except oil and knead it for few minutes until the dough is smooth and pliable.

2. Cover it with damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

3. Divide the dough into 10 equal size balls and dab it with some flour, then flatten it out into circle of about approx. 4-5 inch diameter.

4. Place one rolled out dough on a hot griddle, after few seconds small air bubbles starts popping out, flip it and smear it with little oil, then again flip and apply oil and press it with splatula until it is golden brown on both side.

5. Repeat this with the remaining portions. Stack the paratha one above the other and cover it with kitchen towel or muslin cloth and keep it inside hot case box or any box with lid.
