minutesGreen Beans Thoran combines finely chopped green beans and onions with crushed coconut and garlic cooked together to crunchy perfection .
Ingredients
1 lb of green beans
Half of medium red onion, finely chopped
Few dry red chilies
Red chilly powder to taste
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1 tsp of mustard seeds
2 Tbsp of shredded or grated unsweetened coconut
1 tsp of oil
Directions
- Wash the beans and drain it in the colander. Trim off its ends. Bunch few beans together and slice it really fine.
- Splutter mustard seeds in hot oil, then add onion,beans,turmeric,chilly powder,coconut, salt and mix.
- Put on the lid and let it steam for few minutes (appr. 5-6 min). Add little water, if needed for steaming.
- Green beans thoran is done. Serve warm with rice and dal.
