Paneer bhurji is an easy and simple vegetarian side dish in which crumbled paneer is cooked with sauteed onion and tomato .
In another word it’s an eggless and Indian form of scrambled eggs. “Bhurji” is a Hindi word for scrambled and paneer is an Indian cheese. Normally in India, scrambled paneer or egg does involve sauteing chopped onions with lots of tomatoes, garlic, chilies, then the addition of crumbled panner and cilantro completes the dish.
Paneer bhurji tastes really good with chapati or roti. It is pretty healthy and a complete protein dish for vegetarians. Sometimes, I add chopped green bell peppers to give it extra depth of flavors.
I always keep paneer in my freezer as it comes handy when i have only tomatoes and onion left in my pantry. In that way i can whip up dinner or lunch really fast .
